The day 2 0f 8 Days Kilimanjaro climbing Today you'll cover a lot of ground as you traverse a plateau of grassy moorland and moorland dotted with volcanic rock formations. We will pass through the Shira 1 camp from where views of Kibo Peak can often be seen floating in the clouds as we make our way to our destination, Shira 2. We gain a fair amount of elevation as we make our way to Shira 1 and parts of the route are quite steep. Continuing to Shira 2, you will have the chance to view the northern ice fields from the west side of the mountain with some unusual views of Kibo. The day 4 0f 8 Days Kilimanjaro climbing You will have breakfast and walk east up a steep path above the vegetation towards the looming mass of Kilimanjaro. After several hours of walking, you will now walk through a rocky landscape to reach the important landmark called Lava Tower at 4,630m/15,190ft.

This large remnant of Kilimanjaro's earlier volcanic activity is several hundred meters high and the trail passes just below. Sure-footed players can climb to the top of the tower for extra points. After a lunch break near Lava Tower, descend below the lower cliffs of Western Breach and Breach Wall to Barranco Camp at 3,950m/12,960ft for 2 hours. There are plenty of photo opportunities on this walk, especially if the walls are decorated with ice. Barranco Camp is located in a valley below the Breach and Great Barranco Walls, which should give you an unforgettable sunset while waiting for dinner. The day 5 0f 8 Days Kilimanjaro hiking After a good night's sleep and breakfast, we head to Barafu camp at 4640m. The ascent takes us over desolate scree without any vegetation around us. It is a tough, steep walk made difficult by the altitude. Upon arrival at camp, we eat and spend the afternoon resting as we prepare for a long night and long day. It is important to stay hydrated and warm. We eat dinner early and then try to sleep as we get up between 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. to begin the ascent to the summit in our Kilimanjaro hiking. The 6-hour northwest climb across heavy scree between the Rebmann and Ratzel Glaciers to Stella Point on the crater rim is the most challenging part of the route for most climbers. At Stella Point 5,685m / 18,650ft you will stop for a short rest and have the chance to see an extremely optimistic sunrise. At Stella Point, you will join the upper part of the Marangu route, but you shouldn't stop here for too long, as it will be extremely difficult to start again due to the cold and fatigue.

At Mweka Gate, you will sign your name and enter your information into a register.
