The 6 days machame route trek covers a distance of approximately 62 kilometers (38.5 miles) and takes six days to complete, allowing for acclimatization to the high altitude. THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE CLIMBING MOUNT KILIMANJARO

How much does it cost to climb Mount Kilimanjaro?

Getting to Tanzania and hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro is not cheap. But the once in a lifetime experience is worth every penny. Costs (usually quoted in USD) will depend on the tour operator and what you need. Luxuries such as portable toilets and glassware will cost more. Land costs should include transport to and from Kili, full board, porters, guides, cooks, national park fees and permits. Do not choose the cheapest operator, choose an operator who discloses all costs and who offers value for money.

How many days ahead of time should I arrive?

We as BURIGI CHATO SAFARIS CO L.t.d recommend arriving at least one day early. This will give your body time to adjust to the time change and also recuperate from the long flight. It also gives you a cushion in case your flight is canceled or delayed, or if your bags are lost or delayed.

Whats the best season to climb Mount Kilimanjaro ?

Guidebooks suggest climbing Kilimanjaro in January-February or August-September, when warmer temperatures and clear skies are most likely. But these are also the most crowded months. Climbing in March or October, just before each of two rainy seasons, is the best hedge to avoid both crowds and foul weather.
