This 5 days Marangu route is one of the most popular trekking routes up to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania - East Africa.
The 5 days itinerary provides a slower pace, allowing for better acclimatization and increasing the chances of reaching the summit.
The Kilimanjaro 5 days Marangu route is considered the most accessible path to climb Kilimanjaro, also known as the "Coca-Cola" route, due to its gradual slope and direct course. This trail is the oldest and most established route on Kilimanjaro and offers sleeping huts in a dormitory-style arrangement.
Guests are provided with mattresses and pillows, while sleeping bags are still required. Communal dining halls, basic washrooms, and toilets are available in the huts.
The trek is generally considered to be less challenging than other routes, but still requires a good level of fitness and acclimatization to the altitude.
The shorter duration of the Marangu route can make altitude acclimatization challenging. This 5 days marangu route begins from the southeast, but unfortunately, it is less scenic than other paths because the ascent and descent follow the same track. Furthermore, it is also the busiest route to the summit.
Burigi Chato Safaris offers climbing packages on the Marangu Route, which includes a 5-day or 6-day option. The 5 5 days option does not include an acclimatization day at Horombo Hut on day three.
