On this Day 1 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro hiking,The journey from Moshi to the entrance of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park takes approximately 50 minutes. The road passes through the village of Machame, which is on the lower slopes of the mountain. We now leave the park gate and hike through the rainforest on a winding path to a ridge. Further on the trail can be muddy and slippery. Trekking poles are a good idea here. We continue Days Kilimanjaro hiking for a short distance until we reach Machame Camp.

On this Day 2 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro climbing After breakfast we leave the rainforest clearings and continue on an ascending path, crossing the small valley and walking along a steep rocky ridge covered in heather to the end of the ridge. On this Day 3 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro hiking From the Shira plateau, continue east on a ridge past the turnoff to the summit of Kibo. As we continue our direction changes to the southeast towards the lava tower called "Shark Tooth". Shortly after the tower we come to the second fork which takes us to the Arrow Glacier at 16,000 feet. We now continue to Barranco Camp at an elevation of 13,000 feet. Here we rest, have dinner and spend the night. Although you end the day at the same altitude as when you started it, this day is very important for acclimatization and helps your body prepare for the day Days Kilimanjaro hiking at the top.

From this position, the two peaks Mawenzi and Kibo are visible.

On this Day 6 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro climbing Very early in the morning (around midnight) we begin our ascent to the summit. This is the most mentally and physically difficult part of the trek. The wind and cold at this altitude and time of day can be extreme. We ride in the dark for several hours, taking frequent but short breaks. Near Stella Point (18,900ft) you will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise you can see over Mawenzi Peak. Finally we arrive at Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Kilimanjaro and the African continent.
From the top we now descend directly to the Mweka Hut campsite and stop at Barafu for lunch. The trail is very rocky and can be quite hard on the knees; walking sticks are useful. Mweka camp is located in the upper forest and fog or rain is expected in the late afternoon. On this Day 7 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro hiking After breakfast we continue the descent to Mweka Park Gate to receive summit certificates. At lower elevations it is wet and muddy. Gaiters and walking sticks help. Shorts and T-shirts will probably be enough to wear (have waterproof gear and warmer clothes handy). From the gate, continue for another hour to Mweka Gate. A vehicle will meet you at the Mweka gate to take you back to your hotel in Moshi.
