The Lemosho route is considered the most scenic route up Kilimanjaro during Kilimanjaro hiking, offering panoramic views of different sides of the mountain. As one of the newer routes, Lemosho is an excellent choice for your ascent. It is our favorite route for the ideal balance of low crowds, beautiful scenery and a high summit success rate. Burigi Chato SafariĀ® specializes in guiding the Lemosho route. Most of our clients do Kilimanjaro hiking via this route and consistently report that they loved it.
Lemosho is therefore highly recommended. The route approaches Kilimanjaro from the west, starting with a long drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate. From there we trek through the rainforest to Shira Ridge for the first two days. The Lemosho Trail traverses the entire Shira Plateau from west to east in a pleasant, relatively flat hike. Crowds are low until the route joins the Machame trail near Lava Tower.
Next, the route continues under Kilimanjaro's southern ice field on a trail known as the Southern Circuit before reaching the summit of Barafu. Descent is via the Mweka route. The seven-day variant combines days five and six, from Barranco camp to Barafu camp without staying overnight in Karanga. A nine-day Kilimanjaro climbing variation, including an overnight at Crater Camp, is available as a private climb by special request of Kilimanjaro climbing.
You will be picked up from your hotel around 08:00 and taken to the Lemosho Gate on the west side of Kilimanjaro. After checking in, still start our steady 8 Days Kilimanjaro hiking through the forests of Lemosho Glades to reach Big Tree Camp where you will spend the night.

We'll trek through Shira 1 Camp, where we'll often see Kibo Peak aglow in the clouds as we approach Shira 2, our final destination. As we approach Shira 1, we gain some altitude, and there are steep sections of the route. From the western side of the mountain, you can see the Northern Ice fields and some unusual views of Kibo as you travel toward Shira 2. Our steady ascent across the Shira Plateau's moors will aid in acclimatization, and we'll also get great views.

On the Day 4 of 8 Days Kilimanjaro climbing You will have breakfast and walk east up a steep path above the vegetation towards the looming mass of Kilimanjaro. After several hours of walking, you will now walk through a rocky landscape to reach the important landmark called Lava Tower at 4,630m/15,190ft. This large remnant of Kilimanjaro's earlier volcanic activity is several hundred meters high and the trail passes just below. Sure-footed players can climb to the top of the tower for extra points. After a lunch break near Lava Tower, descend below the lower cliffs of Western Breach and Breach Wall to Barranco Camp at 3,950m/12,960ft for 2 hours. There are plenty of photo opportunities on this walk, especially if the walls are decorated with ice. Barranco Camp is located in a valley below the Breccia and the Great Walls of Barranco, which should give you an unforgettable sunset while waiting for dinner. As we get ready for a long day and night ahead, we eat and rest after arriving at camp. It's important to stay warm and hydrated. We have a very early dinner and then try to get some sleep because we have to get up between 11 and 12 for the ascent to the top during Kilimanjaro hiking.

On the Day 6 of 8 Days Kilimanjaro climbing You will begin your descent this morning by hiking east over valleys, ridges, and other obstacles to join the Mweka Route. You will receive a hot lunch at the Barafu Hut if you turn left in the direction of the mountain and continue hiking up the ridge through a sparse landscape for an additional hour. Karanga Valley is the final water source on this Kilimanjaro climbing route because Barafu Cam does not have water.
despite the fact that the Swahili word for ice is Barafu. Barafu Camp is close to the mountain's peak, and far above it are the famous snows of Kilimanjaro. Because your tent will be set up on a windswept, narrow, stony ridge, you should familiarize yourself with the area before it gets dark to avoid getting hurt. Make preparations for your summit climb, including warm clothing and plenty of fluid intake. Sleep in for a few valuable hours after an early dinner.

At Stella Point, you join the top of the Marangu Route; however, don't stay too long because it will be very hard to start again due to the cold and exhaustion.
