Umbwe 7 Days Kilimanjaro climbing is considered a very difficult and demanding route, to be tackled only by strong hikers confident in their ability to quickly acclimatize at the camp Coming from the south, the Umbwe route is a short, steep and direct climb. After reaching Barranco Camp, the trail turns east and traverses Kilimanjaro's southern ice field on a path of Southern Circuit before reaching the summit from Barafu. The Kilimanjaro climbing descent is via the Mweka route. Burigi Chato SafarisĀ® offers Umbwe as a private six or seven day climb. The seven-day variant adds an acclimatization day at Barranco Camp on the third day.
On the Day 1 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro hiking, Pick up from hotel with our vehicle, drive to Umbwe Gate. After completing check-in procedures at the gate, the trek through the rainforest to Umbwe Cave Camp begins, where all tents are already set up, before stopping for dinner and overnight. Today you will trek through ridges and valleys into a truly dense forest

On the Day 2 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro hiking On this day, after breakfast, you will hike through the remaining forest to the moorland and heath area, enjoying beautiful views of the Barranco valleys and the ice cap at the top of the mountain. Then arrive at the gorge camp for dinner and spend the night.

On the Day 3 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro hiking Day 3 is spent exploring near Barranco Camp to acclimatize. Have your camera ready to capture the scenery of the dirt-covered camp. If you are very confident that your body can acclimatize well, you can choose the 6-day Umbwe route.

On the Day 4 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro climbing After sleeping under the Great Wall of Barranco, you have the opportunity to overcome this obstacle. Don't worry... it's a lot easier than it seems. Continue until you are just below Heim Glacier. Then drive down through the Karanga Valley. This is the last place your porters can go to fetch water.Here they collect all the water for the rest of the7 Days Kilimanjaro climbing . You will settle here at Camp Karanga. After lunch, you can spend the afternoon exploring or resting while enjoying the view of the mighty Mawenzi Spiers.

On the Day 5 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro hiking After breakfast, head east crossing several ridges and valleys until you meet the Mweka route and turn left to walk along the ridge for an hour to reach Barafu Hut. You arrive at camp to find your tent pitched on a rocky ridge in strong winds. To be on the safe side, familiarize yourself with the camp before nightfall. Also, have your headlamp/torch handy if you need to leave the store after dark. Before going to bed at 7pm, get your gear ready (replace the batteries in the headlamp and camera). m. and you'll try to get a few hours sleep before trying to reach the top on Kilimanjaro hiking!

On the Day 6 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro climbing Wake up at 11:30 p.m. m. for tea or coffee and biscuits and then leave Barafu to reach the summit. You climb 6 hours through thick boulders and follow several switchbacks between Ratzel and Rebmann glaciers until you reach Stella Point (18,650 feet/5,685 m). You have just completed the most challenging part of your trek, which most Kilimanjaro climbing climbers consider difficult. Depending on your pace so far, you may have a chance to enjoy the majestic sunrise here during your short break. Although you will be tired in , it is important to keep moving due to the extreme cold.At Stella Point you have joined the last part of the Marangu Route.
You will walk along the rim for another 1-2 hours until you reach your final destination, Uhuru Peak. Congratulations, you are now on the roof of Africa! You will have time to take photos with the world famous Uhuru Peak sign, but it is important to start your Kilimanjaro climbing descent early to give you enough time to rest at Barafu Camp. After a 3 hour descent over slippery scree you will reach Barafu to rest for a while while collecting your gear and then continue the trek back to Mweka Forest Camp.It can rain in the afternoon, so make sure you have your rain gear in your backpack. Enjoy dinner and a well deserved sleep. At Mweka Camp, the office sells mineral water, soft drinks, chocolate bars and beer.

On the Day 7 of 7 Days Kilimanjaro hiking After breakfast, today is your last day on the mountain, so descend through the Montana forest to the gate of Mweka Park. This descent takes 3 to 4 hours. Then, check out here at the gate and get ready to board the vehicle ready for transfer back to Moshi.
