On the Day 1 of 6 days Kilimanjaro hiking,You will be picked up from the hotel and drive to the gate of Marangu. As you drive to the gate you will enjoy excellent views of the mountains. With your team of guides and porters, you will then check into the park at the gate. You get into the rainforest, which is the first zone of the mountain. While in the forest you could see colorful birds, colobus and other species of monkeys, as well as mosses, lichens and flowers and delicate orchids. When the sky is clear you can see the town of Moshi further down the edge of the plain. In these 4-5 hours of Kilimanjaro hiking you will continue to climb through areas of coffee plantations and dense rainforest to Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight.

On the Day 2 of 6 days Kilimanjaro hiking We leave the clearings of the rainforest and follow an ascending path further to the open moorlands and then to Horombo camp. We will witness the breathtaking views of Kibo and Mawenzi. As we cross the alpine zone of the mountain, we will see huge lobelia and grounsel. This is where you are likely to feel the effects of altitude.

On the Day 3 of 6 days Kilimanjaro hiking The third day is for acclimatization. It is highly recommended to hike up to the Mawenzi Hut to allow your body to acclimate. This hike increases your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak. There is also a reward, namely the magnificent view of Kibo. Afterwards, return to Horombo for a late lunch. Spend the morning, afternoon and evening at Horombo hut.

On the Day 4 of 6 days Kilimanjaro hiking The landscape becomes rockier and harsher as you pass kibo, everlasting flowers and other bizarre alpine plants. Massive ragwort and lobelia appear in the barren moorland. The way up to Kibo takes between five and seven hours. Passing Mawenzi Peak, you pass Last Water Point, then traverse a barren, almost lunar-shaped landscape to the Saddle, a vast tundra desert between the two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo. Here you have fantastic views of the upper mountain ranges before reaching Kibo Hut (4,705m), a dry-stone hut with dormitories and limited facilities. Tonight, prepare for tomorrow's final assault, THE SUMMIT, repacking to leave all non-essential items with the porters.

On the Day 5 of 6 days Kilimanjaro climbing Begin very early in the morning (midnight to 2am) to climb to the summit on steep and heavy gravel or snow to Gilmans Point on the crater rim. We continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Incredible views are around every corner. You will have your picture taken at the summit to show your friends and family that you made it. From here we dismount, stop for lunch and take a break in Kibo before continuing to Horombo camp. The start of this Kilimanjaro climbing is done in the dark and requires headlamps or flashlights. It will be very cold by the time you start your descent, so you'll need all your warm layers. This is by far the most difficult part of the hike with many switchbacks. Walk Pole Pole slowly and an optimistic attitude will get you there!
