The Umbwe route has a deserved reputation as the most challenging route on Kilimanjaro. We propose a 6 Days Kilimanjaro hiking Due to the rapid ascent in altitude, this route does not offer the necessary acclimatization stops. Although the number of people on this path is very small, the chances of success are also small. Umbwe is considered a very difficult and strenuous trek, which should only be attempted by strong hikers who are confident in their ability to acclimate quickly to the altitude. If you are coming from the south, the Umbwe route is a short, steep and direct climb. After reaching Barranco Camp, the trail turns east and crosses Kilimanjaro's South Icefield on a path known as the South Circuit before reaching the summit of Barafu. The6 Days Kilimanjaro hiking descent is via the Mweka route. Burigi Chato SafarisĀ® offers Umbwe as a 6- or 7-day private ascent. The seven-day variant adds an acclimatization day on day three at Camp Barranco.
