Considered the most scenic route on Kilimanjaro climbing , the Lemosho route offers visitors panoramic views of different sides of the mountain. One of the newer routes, Lemosho is an excellent choice for your climb. This is our favorite route due to its ideal balance of few people, beautiful scenery and a high summit success rate. Therefore, Lemosho is highly recommended.
The lesser known Lemosho route on Kilimanjaro climbing begins on the western side of Kilimanjaro. The first 2 days of the tour pass through the dense rainforest belt, which then turns into heather and moorland with lots of ferns and heather along the way. The small path has very steep passages and crosses varied landscapes. On the fourth day, the trail joins the Machame road. The route traverses Kilimanjaro's Southern Icefield on a path known as the Southern Circuit before reaching the summit of Barafu. During the Kilimanjaro hiking the descent is via the Mweka route.
On the 8 day Lemosho route with overnight in Kosovo camp,on day 6 of the trek from Karanga we pass through Barafu camp straight to Kosovo camp for the night, giving us a short day just before the summit attempt. Overnight camp in Kosovo is important because we sleep through the night and get up at our usual time, so climbers or hikers are sleep deprived as they head out for their toughest day on the mountain. Having a short day's notice allows climbers or hikers to be better equipped. The 8 days Lemosho trail/route with overnight stay in Kosovo camp is highly recommended.
Upon arrival at Arusha/Kilimanjaro airport, you will meet your Driver- guide from Burigi Chato Safaris who will pick you up and drive you to your hotel in Moshi Tanzania (for budget hotels we recommend KILIMANJARO WHITE HOUSE HOTEL). Stay and settle in your accommodation, relax and get used to the African atmosphere. Ready to start your 8 DAYS KILIMANJARO CLIMBING VIA LEMOSHO ROUTE (WITH OVERNIGHT IN KOSOVO CAMP ON DAY 6) the next day.
