This park is usually the site of the annual wildebeest and zebra migration that takes place between the Kenyan Mara and the Serengeti. Here you can observe different species of birds such as eagles, ducks, geese, herons, vultures, secretary birds, ibises, storks, herons, kites, pelicans, cranes and guinea fowl.

Other commonly encountered species include hippo, giraffe, antelope, impala and other species of antelope, baboons, monkeys and an abundance of more than 500 species of birds. In May or early June, huge herds of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra begin their spectacular annual northward migration. Follow predators, lions, cheetahs and wild dogs with vultures circling overhead.

After breakfast, descend to the crater for lunch to enjoy the safari for more than 7 hours. Millions of years ago, a volcano the size of Mount Kilimanjaro rose in the highlands of northern Tanzania. Its eruption formed the world's largest non-flooded caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater, now dormant and teeming with wildlife, is a playground where you can enjoy games in search of the Big Five. The natural protection of the 600 m (1,968 ft) high crater walls "Ngorongoro Crater" supports many species, is one of the most densely populated African wildlife sanctuaries in the world and is home to approximately 30,000 animals and this is the best place in Tanzania to watch from See endangered black rhinos.

The park is watered and fed all year round, the crater is home to a variety of animals including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, antelope, wild boar, hippo and giant African elephants. Another major draw of this scenic national park is its huge population of predators, including lion, hyena, jackal, cheetah, and the always elusive leopard crater floor. After a picnic lunch you will have a game drive. After the game drive we drive to Manyara to spend the night.

DAY 5: DRIVE TO LAKE EYASI THEN BACK TO MANYARA/KARATU

Explore wild and unknown territory in the southern Serengeti. Located immediately southwest of Ngorongoro Crater in the Crater Highlands of Tanzania, Lake Eyasi is one of several beautiful lakes in the East African Rift Valley. The slightly alkaline lake stretches some 50km to the southwest with the vast plains of the Serengeti to the north.

Enjoy strolls along the shores of the lake and spend afternoons exploring the area, which is dotted with ancient baobab trees. Join a Hadzabe family, the last remaining hunter-gatherers in Africa, on a hunting expedition to see their uncanny ability to track and hunt small game!

Early morning we head to the village to experience local hunting with the Hadzabe and Datonga tribes. This is not just a performance. The Bushmen rely on these techniques to survive and you must be very alert and sometimes silent when demonstrating their use of local poisons to incapacitate the poor creatures they depend on for survival. We return to your accommodation for a late breakfast. After breakfast, meet the extraordinary people belonging to an indigenous tribe known as the “Hadzabe” (Hunter-Gatherer-Bushmen).

The tribe lives along the shores of Lake Eyasi, as does the Nilotic-speaking Datoga tribe. You will visit these tribes which will include a visit to their homes, learn about their way of life, animal tracking, medicinal plants and much more. Some wildlife and a variety of bird species can be spotted on organized walks around the lake. At the end of the afternoon, we return to Manyara/Karatu to spend the night

On this day you will leave Manyara and head towards Tarangire National Park. You will arrive in Tarangire in 1.5 hours. Your driver will take care of the paperwork at the park gate and then embark on your final game drive. Tarangire National Park has the highest density of elephants and baobab trees that dot the grasslands of northern Tanzania and you can see these animals year-round where herds can often reach an impressive 300 animals.

The Tarangire River carries water all year round and during the dry season, between July and October, many local animals come to the river to drink. You will witness an unforgettable natural spectacle, because you will observe wonderful creatures such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests and zebras as well as various species of antelopes and gazelles and with a bit of luck you will also be able to see a python! This area is a bird watcher's paradise, even during the dry season, with over 550 different species including the Maasai ostrich, the world's largest bird. Around noon, you'll stop at a suitable picnic spot before spending the afternoon with more wildlife viewing. Before sunset we return to Arusha/Moshi for the night.
