You'll pass at the supermarket (if you wish) for any last minute purchases of personal items you may need, then continue. Reach Ngorongoro after 3 hours, then we descend 600m to the crater to see the wildlife inside some of wildlife share the same biological origin with others found in the Annual Serengeti Migration. One of the most densely populated African wildlife areas in the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is home to around 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania's last remaining black rhinos. Another major draw of this scenic national park is its dense population of predators, including the ever-elusive lion, hyena, jackal, cheetah and leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will also visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwest corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here.
