The city is close to Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, Olduvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru Arusha National Park.

Departing early from Arusha town around 07:30 - 08:00, you will cross the beautiful and picturesque Masai steppe to the Makuyuni junction and turn left along the Arusha - Dodoma highway towards the National Park Tarangire, one way drive will only take 2 hours at most. Arrive at the park gate in Tarangire and after your driver has done the paperwork, you start the driving game almost immediately from the gate with the aim of seeing as many animals and birds as possible.
Tarangire is known for two aspects, its tall baobab trees and larger herds of jumbo, but there's more to the park than just that. The park hosts a lot of large and small animal migration games (migrating between here and Manyara) but also many species of birds, some of which are very rare and are almost exclusively native to this park, for example like Ashy Starlings for example. Other erratic animal species include the oryx and the gerenuk. A variety of other common animals can be spotted including buffalo, giraffe, lion, cheetah, impala, dikdik, clouded leopard, antelope, eland, antelope (Kongoni) and many more.
Your expert hunting guide will take you to the best wildlife viewing areas in the park, including the Tarangire River, a permanent river that functions as the lifeblood of the park, ensuring that Animals flock to the riverbanks in search of water throughout the year. You expect to see elephants, eland, wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, gerenuk, giraffe and lots of birds. Lunch will be enjoyed at one of the picnic sites in the park. Late afternoon, you will leave the park and your guide will take you to Manyara/Karatu in Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner and overnight. Overnight in an economy tinted motel in Manyara/Karatu.

Today we are going to Lake Manyara National Park to experience the games of the day. It is one of the smallest parks in Tanzania, yet offers a varied and rewarding safari experience. The shores of Lake Manyara are teeming with birds, and while looking for birds, you might spot one of the elusive tree-climbing lions.
The park includes the northwest coast and part of alkaline Lake Manyara, itself within the Great Rift Valley. The park is perhaps best known for its flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants, but it is also home to several hundred other species of birds. it is therefore a paradise for ornithologists. Along with a variety of birds, the "Big Game" can also be seen. With a little luck, you can see elephants in wooded areas and even luckier lions climbing trees. Indeed, it has long been thought that Lake Manyara National Park is the only place where you can find these atypical tree-climbing lions. Baboons and vervets are also found in wooded areas and in more open spaces, giraffes gnaw on fresh leaves while different types of antelope are common in the area for delicious buds. In the late afternoon, you will exit Lake Manyara National Park. and go to Arusha/Moshi for dinner and overnight.
There are a surprising number of other large mammals, and the dramatic cliffs of the Rift Escarboards provide a breathtaking backdrop. We returned to Arusha in the late afternoon.
